DFNN, Inc. facilitated its first ‘Education Under the Bridge’ in Coastal Road, Bulongan Area, La Huerta Paranaque City last 6 December 2019. Established in 2010, ‘Class Under the Bridge’ is an educational program started by Teacher Fe Lustana for the underprivileged children of the Bulongan community. Every Saturday, Teacher Fe and groups of volunteers provide the children of the community free school lessons including reading and writing as well as basic life skills.
Spearheaded by the DFNN Sustainability Vanguards, twenty-four (24) employee volunteers from various subsidiaries under the DFNN Group stood as teachers of the one hundred five (105) children under the bridge. Integrating fun with learning, Teacher Fe and DFNN volunteers prepared fun-filled activities for the children to participate in – the children engaged in storytelling and Christmas card making activities throughout the entire class. To make the day more entertaining for the children, the volunteers devised a Christmas card making contest. One child stood out with a festive card and a message of gratitude to all DFNN volunteers who took the time to have fun with them that day.

After the class, the volunteers also distributed gifts for the children with each child receiving a hygiene kit and a set of school supplies. DFNN aims to promote health and continued education to the children with these tokens.

Concluding the entire activity, DFNN gave recognition to Teacher Fe for her selfless efforts to provide free education to the underprivileged children of the Bulongan community.
